On the roof, there will be dome shaped glass housings. These housing is intended to collect the natural sunlight, and send them to the other end by using a reflective surface. The house will have a number of tubes that would run to places to provide for natural sunlight, and reduce the need to run lights which is especially useful considering the utility rooms will likely be worked on in the daytime. The front of the roof will have There will be 10 solar tube lights for the following spaces:
- Water Room
- Electrical Room
- Communications Room
- Basement 1
- Basement 2
- Lavatory (basement)
- Laundry Room
- Bedroom Closet
- Bedroom Closet
- Lavatory (fl 3)
By providing natural light to these rooms, it should reduce the number of times to turn on the lights. There are of course light switches that will provide for lighting when it’s night time, and while I would have liked more, I will imagine that the interior walls will only be able to support so many tubes. Since it is just me living by myself, I don’t see me turning on lights unless I actually need to, but with these rooms not having windows, I will need to have light coming in.
